METHODS OF TEACHING MATHEMATICS PRE-K - GRADE 2 (3)Examination of the current mathematics learning standards and their use in development of age-appropriate, discipline specific and interdisciplinary pedagogy, planning for teaching the five strands of mathematical proficiency (perceptual understanding, procedural fluency, strategic competence, adaptive reasoning and productive dispositions) in PreK to Grade 2. 10 field hours required.Prerequisite(s): ECH 4401/4001, ECH 4402/4304, ECH 4404/4000, ECH 4405/4002, ECH 4410/4310, and ECH 4412/4008; MATH 1010/140 and MATH 1020/141 or consent of department.Co-requisite(s): ECH 4413, ECH 4414 and ECH 4416.
