S ED 5481 - Adapt Skills Spec Needs ADAPTIVE SKILLS FOR LEARNERS WITH SPECIAL NEEDS (3) This interdisciplinary course is designed to focus on methods and strategies for assisting learners with special needs develop critical adaptive skills. Emphasis will be placed on strategies for assessing and teaching functional academic and life skills needed by students to live independently in their home, school, and community settings. A case-study, remedial plan, and adapted lesson plan are completed in this course under the supervision of the departmental faculty. Prerequisite(s): Graduate Standing, SED 5301/301G, SED 5304/304G, SED 5476/476, SED 5477/477 and Admission to the College of Education or permission of the Chair of Special Education or Admission to the Master of Occupational Therapy Program.
