METHODS OF TEACHING SOCIAL STUDIES AND FINE ARTS PRE-K TO GRADE 2 /FIELD (3)Through examination and application of the current learning standards for social studies and fine arts, early childhood teacher candidates will gain experiences which facilitate the development of knowledge and skills needed to foster children’s exploration and creative expression in Pre-K to second grade. Emphasis will be placed on interdisciplinary planning to encourage the use of methods and materials in teaching inquiry skills, history, civics, geography, economics and financial literacy, visual arts, theatre, music, and dance. Ten (10) field hours required.Prerequisites: ECH 4404, ECH 4420, ECH 4421, and admission to the College of Education.
