University General Education Requirements

Minor in Music (23 credit hours)

All students who wish to minor in music shall demonstrate proficiency in a performing medium (instrumental, piano, or vocal) by audition before entering the program minor.

The requirements for minors must be completed prior to graduation in order for the minor to appear on the transcript. For more information about minors, see the chairperson of the department.

MUSM 1111 - Music Theory I Credit Hours: 2
MUSM 1112 - Music Theory II Credit Hours: 2
MUSM 1115 - Aural/Key Skills I Credit Hours: 2
MUSM 1116 - Aural/Key Skills II Credit Hours: 2

Elective Courses

9 credit hours: Chosen from MUS courses, applied lessons, or MUSE ensembles, with approval of the department.
