ED 5474 - Restorative Justice Action Research in Education Application of successful approaches to various modes of inquiry and developmentally appropriate literature and resources across all content areas. Focus on the teacher as facilitator and guide for learning and the role of education to create a just and democratic society. Themes include emancipatory pedagogy, restorative justice and abolitionist teaching. Analysis of processes, skills, and concepts. Program capstone action research project focused on restorative justice, instructional practices, assessment and teacher effectiveness practices. Demonstrate successful completion of required Field Experience Block Level IV pre-clinical experience competencies. Two hundred twenty-five (225) clock hours of supervised experience [Pre-Clinical: Tutoring/Co-Teach/Teach Whole Lessons/Action Research] in the elementary classroom (grades 1-6), middle grades (grades 5-8), or secondary (grades 9-12) appropriate to the student’s major, licensure credential (i.e. Professional Educator License), or non-licensure concentration area. Course may be repeated for a maximum of two attempts. Credit will be awarded as Pass or Fail. Credit will be given for only one of the following: ED 4474 or ED 5474.
