ED 4474 - Restorative Justice Action Research in Education Application of successful approaches to various modes of inquiry and developmentally appropriate literature and resources across all content areas. Focus on the teacher as facilitator and guide for learning and the role of education to create a just and democratic society. Themes include emancipatory pedagogy, restorative justice, and abolitionist teaching. Analysis of processes, skills, and concepts. Application of data sets and statistics. Program capstone action research project focused on restorative justice, instructional practices, assessment, and teacher effectiveness practices. Completion of edTPA Teacher Performance Assessment Portfolio. One hundred fifty (150) clock hours of supervised pre-clinical experience in the elementary classroom (grades 1-6), middle grades (grades 5-8), or secondary grades (grades 9-12) appropriate to the student’s major, licensure credential (i.e., Professional Educator License), non-licensure concentration area. Credit will be given for only one of the following: ED 4474 or ED 5474. $60 program fee plus $300 edTBA fee.
