HON 1355 - Mathematical Inquiry

MATHEMATICAL INQUIRY (3)Exploration of modern mathematical ideas from a layman’s point of view. Emphasis on using sound reasoning skills and on communicating ideas effectively. Classroom discusssion and group work on challenging problems are central to the course. Topics from Number Theory, Infinity, Geometry, Chaos Theory, Probability, Statistics, and Graph Theory may be included. Credit not given for both HON 1355 and MATH 1700, MATH 1800 or HON 1300/1310.Prerequisite: Admission to the Honors College.
