ECSE 4418 - Screening and Assessment in Early Childhood Special Education


Course provides guidance in procedures for measurement of social, emotional cognitive, communication, and motor development of young children; the appropriate administration and utilization of formal/informal, and formative/summative assessments used in classroom, family and community settings with consideration of accommodations for atypically developing young children. Assessment data collected is used to both develop developmental/instructional objectives and modify instruction. Instruments for evaluation of classroom and other learning environments will be addressed. Credit will be given for only one of the following: ECSE 4418, ECSE 5418.

Prerequisites
Admission to the College of Education or Early Childhood Education: Family Studies (ECNT) major; Year 3 (Junior) level or above.
