CIVIL ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN COURSE (4)Investigation of properties and testing of materials used in civil and heavy construction with emphasis on concrete, fine-grained soil, and aggregates, principles of construction inspection and safety, including safety practices, Occupational, Safety, and Health Administration (OSHA) requirements, codes and standards. Introduction to surveying and stationing jobsites. (Lab and field experiences.)Prerequisite: Consent of department; successful completion of math qualifying exam or required developmental math courses.Co-requisite: MATH 1250 or equivalent academic coursework.
