THE WIRE: INTERSECTIONS OF URBAN INEQUALITY (3)This course examines topics related to urban inequality, the prison industrial complex and poverty. The television series, The Wire, provides an excellent opportunity to analyze our understanding of urban inequality, including: crime, incarceration, work and labor markets, the unregulated economy, urban politics and education. The content of the course is comprised of academic research that will be examined in conjunction with the series.Prerequisites: ENG 1270/127 or ENG 1230/123.
