ECH 4314 - Methods of Teaching Social Studies Pre-K to Grade 2

Thorough examination of the current learning standards for social studies. Experience in their use to develop and implement instructional methods and materials in teaching history, government, geography, and economics in PreK to Grade 2. Course will emphasize discipline-specific and age-appropriate pedagogies and interdisciplinary planning and instruction. Credit will be given for only one of the following: ECH 4314, ECH 5314, ECH 4413  , or ECH 5413.

Admission to the College of Education or Early Childhood Education: Family Studies (ECNT) major; Year 3 (Junior) level or above.
