ECH 4312 - Methods of Teaching Mathematics and Science P-2


Examination of the current learning standards for mathematics and science and their use in development of age-appropriate instructional planning and implementation. The course will address the five strands of mathematical proficiency, science practices, and inquiry process skills, with an emphasis on the use of appropriate materials, and pedagogies for PreK to Grade 2. Credit will be given for only one of the following: ECH 4312, ECH 5312, or both of the following courses ECH 4414 /ECH 5414 and ECH 4415 /ECH 5415.

Prerequisites
Admission to the College of Education or Early Childhood Education: Family Studies (ECNT) major; Year 3 (Junior) level or above.
