ECH 3406 - Child, Family, and Community Relationships

Examination of family, culture, and social systems, the strengths, resources and vulnerabilities of these systems and how they influence children’s development and academic success and the functioning of care and educational systems Strategies for developing effective partnerships with families and with other school professionals and for advocating for children, families and the profession including legal and philosophical basis for family engagement. Focus on strategies for effective inclusion of young children with special needs and diverse families. Credit will be given for only one of the following: ECH 3406, ECH 4406, or ECH 5406.
